The Williams College of Business at Xavier University invites applications for a non-tenure track Teaching Professorship position in the Department of Marketing beginning fall 2024. The Teaching Professor position is renewable on a yearly basis, with the potential after six years for promotion to Senior Teaching Professor with a rolling two-year renewable contract. The candidate must be committed to providing quality teaching and to either (a) maintaining an active professional presence or (b) conducting scholarly research in compliance with AACSB standards for faculty. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Duties:  Faculty members at Xavier are expected to teach in both undergraduate and master’s programs (MBA) in live and on-line formats. The successful candidate will be able to teach courses in General Marketing (e.g., Introduction to Marketing and Marketing Capstone) and upper level electives. The ideal candidate will have demonstratable expertise in either branding or strategic marketing. The Williams College of Business places a strong emphasis on experientially-based teaching and the successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to incorporate hands-on, professional engagement in the classroom. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will also serve as a faculty advisor for the American Marketing Association Club, which provides students with opportunities for professional development and leadership. Other duties include service and participation in the life of the Department and University consistent with the mission of Jesuit higher education, and professional development activities on and off campus. Teaching load is four courses per semester.

Required Qualifications: Applicants for this non-tenure track faculty position must have at least a master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in marketing-related course work and a minimum of three years of professional work experience in the area of the teaching assignment. Strong candidates will have compelling evidence of teaching effectiveness, an active professional or scholarly agenda, and relevant professional work experience. All areas of teaching interest will be considered. The successful candidate will be able to engage diverse groups of students in learning opportunities.
