Overview

The B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor level in strategy / strategic management. The appointment will begin in Fall 2024. The position is open on the Lafayette campus.

The Management Department consists of a collegial group of faculty members who are actively publishing in the most selective general and disciplinary journals, and have varied interests including management and organizational behavior, organization theory, strategic management, business ethics, technology management, innovation management, and entrepreneurship. We share a common interest in interdisciplinary problems with theoretical and practical importance.

Teaching responsibilities will include Undergraduate and Graduate level courses on strategy, general management, and innovation.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates for a tenure-track faculty position must have the following:

  • A PhD degree in operations management or related management fields from an accredited institution conferred by employment start date.
  • Demonstrated commitment to academic research and excellence in teaching. Ideal candidates will have academic experience post-PhD
    and an academic record consistent with an tenure-track assistant professor. However, we will consider candidates who have recently received their PhDs or will do so before August 2024.
  • Demonstrated use of relevant tools and technologies used in Operations Management.
  • Practical experience and research in key Operations Management specialties including, but not limited to, logistics, inventory
    management, supply chain, capacity planning, location planning, quality management/control, project management, queue analysis and optimization preferred.
  • Evidence of successful teaching in a graduate business school environment is desirable, but not required. Experience with online teaching also preferred.
