Overview

King University, a private, comprehensive university founded in the Presbyterian tradition, is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Accounting in the School of Business, Economics, and Technology. This is a full-time, twelve-month position, beginning in August 2024. This position is based at King’s Bristol campus in the beautiful foothills of Northeast Tennessee. Qualifications:

  • PhD or DBA in Accounting, although applicants with a MAcc and an active CPA license will be considered. At least 1 year of full-time teaching experience. The ability to teach courses in other business disciplines is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Candidate is expected to teach three courses (12 credit hours) in each fall and spring semester, advise students, and participate in departmental and university service. Courses will include a mix of undergraduate and graduate accounting courses, as well as both face-to-face and online formats. Candidate must be willing to provide a high level of student outreach and have the availability to connect with students, academic advisors and team leaders on a frequent basis. Candidate must also be engaging, offering an increased and innovative presence in the face-to-face or online classroom to best serve the student and facilitate student success.
