Overview

The Department of Finance, Accounting, and Management Information Systems within the AACSB accredited School of Business at Georgia Gwinnett College invites candidates to apply for a full-time assistant professor of finance position beginning August 1, 2024.

Successful candidates for the Assistant Professor position will be expected to teach a 3/3 load of lower- and upper-division courses including Financial Markets & Institutions and other areas in Finance. In addition to teaching, applicants are expected to actively participate in scholarly activities and demonstrate a clear research agenda.

The ideal candidate will have experience providing real world application of material in the classroom, with attention to training students to work in the business profession.

In addition to teaching, applicants are expected to actively participate in extensive student engagement, and service to the college and community. Advising and mentoring are expected of all faculty.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Applicants should hold a doctorate or other appropriate terminal degree in their discipline from an AACSB accredited institution before the start date.
  • Applications are invited from those with Ph.D./D.B.A. degrees in Finance and doctoral candidates in Finance.
  • Demonstrated potential for excellent teaching and research.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Finance industry experience and/or certifications
  • Prior teaching experience
  • Commitment to research which leads to quality refereed publications.
