Overview

Full-time, non-tenure-track instructor position in economics. Fort Hays State University is a teaching-focused institution, and the primary mission of the Department of Economics, Finance, and Accounting is to provide quality instruction. Class sizes are small, and we place a premium on quality teaching. We seek applicants who have a passion for teaching and challenging students in the classroom and in the online environment.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • ABD status within one year of completing a Ph.D. in economics from the day of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  A conferred Ph.D. in economics with experience teaching the courses listed in this announcement.

Responsibilities:

This is a nine-month, non-tenure-track position. The candidate accepted for this position will be expected to teach 15 credit hours per semester primarily at the undergraduate level in economics in both lower and upper division courses (may include both on-campus and online). The primary teaching areas are macroeconomics and microeconomics at the principles level, managerial economics, and international economics. The selected candidate will stay current in the field through active research and will participate in departmental, college, and university activities.
