Overview

Culver-Stockton invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Accountancy. This is a full-time, tenure-track position beginning in the fall of 2024 and is a face-to-face position. The college is seeking a candidate who will bring expertise in cost accounting, income tax, auditing, fraud, and advanced accounting. This position offers the opportunity to join a dynamic and collaborate Department of Business to develop and deliver an accounting curriculum, mentor students, and engage in professional activities. The Business Programs are accredited by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging accounting courses at both the undergraduate level, including but not limited to Cost Accounting, Income Tax, Auditing, Fraud, and Advanced Accounting.
  • Incorporate experiential learning opportunities into coursework, such as case studies, simulations, and community-based projects.
  • Advise and mentor students on academic and career development.
  • Engage in scholarly activities or professional practice in the field of accounting.
  • Contribute to the ongoing growth of the Department of Business through curriculum development, assessment activities, and accreditation efforts.
  • Participate in departmental, college-wide, and community service activities.
  • Assist with recruitment efforts for students.
  • Must have the ability to work effectively with students and colleagues and have a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Master in Accountancy, Business or related field required for renewable lecturer position.
  • Previous teaching experience and professional accounting experience are desirable. Candidates possessing a CPA or CMA with extensive accountancy work are preferred.
  • Ph.D. in Accountancy or Business or a related field for a tenure-track position.
  • ABD candidates will be considered.
  • CPA or CMA preferred.
