Overview

Drake University’s College of Business and Public Administration is seeking a full-time, tenure-track, Assistant/Associate Professor in Accounting, starting fall semester 2020. This is a 9 month position. The position will include teaching a range of courses in accounting at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates with experience in either governmental/non-profit accounting or accounting information systems will be given priority. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for providing our students with a rigorous educational environment that prepare them for their future careers in accounting. Other specialty accounting areas will be considered based on the candidate. Normal teaching load is three courses (nine credit hours) per semester. The candidate will also be expected to participate in professional and program development, advising, outcomes assessment, scholarship leading to publication in quality peer-reviewed journals, and service activities for the university, college, and profession. Salary is competitive with peer AACSB schools and dependent on qualifications and experience. An earned Doctorate degree in accounting is preferred and closely related fields will be considered from an accredited university. Those near completion (ABD) will be considered with a requirement of degree completion within one year of appointment. Applicants are required to be qualified according to AACSB standards.
