Overview

The Division of Business and Economics at Elmira College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in finance beginning fall 2019. Minimum qualifications include a master’s in business administration or finance (CFA or CFP certification is a plus), excellence in teaching, and professional experience working in finance.

Primary teaching responsibilities include financial management, risk management, courses in portfolio theory, and electives in finance. Ability to teach courses in management is a plus. Prior teaching experience is highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate a genuine desire to teach and participate fully in a liberal arts environment that emphasizes close student-faculty interaction. Participation in academic and career advising and engagement in scholarly activities is expected. Responsibilities include the supervision of student internships in finance, networking with alumni, and advising the student-run Finance Club. Finance courses are taught in a state-of-the-art Trading Room located in the center of campus. Opportunities to create new courses and teach in the College’s online and graduate programs are available.
